A Hand Up, Not a Hand Out.

Get involved

There's more than one way to be part of the Circle.

Not everyone can travel to Kenya, and not everyone needs to. You can contribute your time, skills, relationships, space, or resources in ways that help strengthen the work of Baskets and Beads Kenya.

Six ways in

Choose how you want to participate.

  • Come to Kenya

Join a mission trip to Kitale and experience the work firsthand. Meet the women, see the programs, spend time with the Kenya team, and learn what the Circle of Transformation looks like on the ground.

  • Host a trunk show

Open your living room, church hall, office, or other gathering space. We bring the collection and the stories; you bring the people.

  • Carry a suitcase

Traveling to or from Kenya? If you have room in your luggage, you may be able to help bring handcrafted products home to the U.S.

  • Lend a skill

Small nonprofits can use donated expertise. Photography, bookkeeping, grant writing, translation, web and email support, event help, and other skills can make a real difference.

  • Bring us to your church or company

Eldonna speaks to churches, civic groups, women's gatherings, and corporate teams about entrepreneurship, leadership, negotiation, faith, and serving beyond borders.

  • Start a giving circle

Gather friends, coworkers, a church group, or another community around a shared goal. We can help you create a simple giving experience your group can understand and support together.

Mission trips

Come to Kenya

Experience the Circle of Transformation in person.

Our mission trips currently take place during the first two weeks of December. It is an opportunity to travel to Kitale, spend time with the women and students we serve, meet the Kenya team, and experience the work firsthand.

Approximate trip cost

~$3,900 per person

Approximately $3,900 covers the in-country trip expenses. Airfare from your location and the $50 Kenya visa fee are additional. Trip costs can change, so treat this as a guide rather than a fixed price.

When a specific trip opens for registration we will add the dates, itinerary, and registration details here.
